Helppa is a managed home help service that provides and coordinates local support for customers who need help at home.

Helppa acts as the Data Controller for personal data collected through our website and service.

For customers:

  • Details provided in service bookings
  • Booking history and service notes

For Helppas (service providers):

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Right to work confirmation
  • Identification documents and optional DBS information
  • Payment details (processed via Stripe)
  • Availability, services offered and booking history

3. How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Process and manage customer bookings
  • Assign and coordinate Helppas for each booking
  • Process payments securely via Stripe
  • Pay Helppas for completed work
  • Manage accounts and provide customer support
  • Ensure safety, quality and trust across the service
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

We only process personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so, including contract performance, legal obligations and legitimate interests.

4. Sharing your data

We may share personal data with:

  • Stripe (for secure payment processing)
  • Assigned Helppas or customers (only what is necessary to complete a booking)
  • Service providers who support our operations, such as email or IT systems

  • Booking records: up to 6 years for legal and tax purposes
  • Helppa account records: while active and up to 6 years after closure
